Understanding PPM and Concentration Units

What are Parts Per Million (PPM)?

Parts per million (ppm) is a unit of measurement used to express very small concentrations. One ppm means that for every million parts of a solution, one part is the substance of interest. It's equivalent to 1 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) or 1 milligram per liter (mg/L) for water.
