How the Pregnancy Countdown Works
This tool estimates your pregnancy progress using standard clinical conventions: gestational age is measured from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP), and full term is assumed to be 40 weeks (280 days). If your average cycle length differs from 28 days, the estimated due date (EDD) is adjusted accordingly.
- Gestational age = days since LMP, expressed in weeks and days.
- EDD by LMP = LMP + 280 days, then adjusted by (cycle length − 28).
- Trimester definitions: 1st (0–13w6d), 2nd (14–27w6d), 3rd (28w0d+).
Important: This is an estimate and not a medical diagnosis. Consult your healthcare provider for personalized guidance.
