How to Measure Your Face

Preparation:

  • • Tie back long hair so it doesn't obscure your face
  • • Use a flexible measuring tape (like for sewing)
  • • Stand in front of a mirror in well-lit space
  • • Have something to write down measurements

1. Forehead Width

Find the widest part of your forehead and measure from hairline to hairline. Usually located midway between eyebrows and hairline.

2. Cheeks Width

Measure the distance between the outer corners of your eyes. This represents the widest part of your cheekbones.

3. Jawline Length

Place tape under your ear at the corner of your jaw, bring to tip of chin. Bend tape to follow jaw curve. Measure one side only.

4. Face Length

Hold tape at central point of hairline and measure straight down to the bottom of your chin.

Understanding Face Shapes and Sunglasses Selection

Why Face Shape Matters

The right sunglasses can enhance your natural features and create visual balance. Different frame shapes complement different face shapes by either softening angular features or adding definition to rounded features.

UV Protection Basics

  • UV rays can cause corneal sunburn (photokeratitis)
  • Long-term exposure accelerates cataract development
  • Can lead to "surfer's eye" (pterygium)
  • Increases skin cancer risk around eyes

Sunglasses Size Guide

Small:Lens width < 50mm
Medium:Lens width 50-55mm
Large:Lens width 55-60mm
Extra Large:Lens width > 60mm

Shopping Tips

  • Check for UV400 or 100% UV protection label
  • Choose the largest frame that fits your face
  • Try on multiple styles within recommended shapes
