Understanding the ACFT
What is the ACFT?
The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) replaced the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) in October 2020. It's designed to better assess soldiers' combat readiness through six challenging events that test different aspects of physical fitness.
Key Differences from APFT
- •Age and gender neutral scoring system
- •Six events instead of three
- •MOS-specific minimum requirements
- •Focus on functional movement patterns
Scoring System
- Maximum Score: 600 points (100 per event)
- Pass Requirement: Minimum score in ALL events
- Minimum Scores: 60-70 points per event (MOS dependent)
- No Age/Gender Adjustments: Same standards for all
Test Frequency
Active Duty: Twice per year
Reserve/Guard: Once per year
Total Test Time: 50-60 minutes
