Grade Calculator
Calculate your overall grade from multiple assignments, tests, and exams with weighted or unweighted averaging
Grade Calculator
Using detailed scale with +/- grades (A+, A, A-, B+, etc.)
Overall Grade Results
Calculation Method: Unweighted average
Grading Scale: Detailed scale with +/-
Example Calculation
Mathematics Course Example
Essay: 67% with 15% weight
Midterm: 75% with 35% weight
Final Exam: 72% with 50% weight
Weighted Calculation
Grade = (67% × 0.15) + (75% × 0.35) + (72% × 0.50)
Grade = 10.05% + 26.25% + 36%
Final Grade = 72.3% ≈ 72% (C-)

Calculator Tips
Use weights when assignments have different importance
Set all weights to 1 for unweighted average
Percentage weights should be in decimal form (0.5 = 50%)
You can add up to 15 different grades or assignments
Choose the grading scale that matches your school
How to Use the Grade Calculator
Calculation Methods
Weighted Average Formula
(g₁ × w₁ + g₂ × w₂ + ... + gₙ × wₙ) / (w₁ + w₂ + ... + wₙ)
Where g = grade and w = weight
Points to Percentage
(points earned / max points) × 100
Converts point grades to percentage for averaging
Grade Type Guide
Letter Grades
Select from dropdown: A+, A, A-, B+, B, etc. Automatically converts to percentage using midpoint of grade range.
Percentage Grades
Enter numerical percentages: 85%, 92.5%, etc. Used directly in calculations.
Points Grades
Enter points earned and maximum points possible. Automatically converts to percentage.
Understanding Weights
Unweighted Example
All grades have equal importance (weight = 1)
Test 1: 85% (weight: 1)
Test 2: 90% (weight: 1)
Average: (85 + 90) ÷ 2 = 87.5%
Weighted Example
Different grades have different importance
Homework: 85% (weight: 0.3)
Final Exam: 90% (weight: 0.7)
Average: (85×0.3 + 90×0.7) ÷ 1 = 88.5%
