Package Dimensions

Enter package dimensions in any order. The calculator will find the optimal orientation.

Optimization Results

Enter pallet dimensions and package sizes to calculate optimal arrangement

Example Calculation

Box Packing Example

Pallet: 1200×1000 mm (European standard)

Max Height: 100 cm

Box Dimensions: 15×20×10 cm

Calculation: Testing all 6 orientations for optimal fit

Result

Optimal Orientation: 15cm (width) × 20cm (length) × 10cm (height)

Packages per Layer: 8×5 = 40 packages

Number of Layers: 100cm ÷ 10cm = 10 layers

Total Packages: 40 × 10 = 400 packages

Weight Capacity Guidelines

Standard North American4,600 lbs
European EPAL3,300 lbs
Australian Standard3,000 lbs

Note: Weight capacity varies by pallet material and design. Always verify with manufacturer specifications.

Optimization Benefits

Maximize space utilization and reduce shipping costs

Minimize damage through optimal package arrangement

Improve warehouse efficiency and handling

Comply with weight and height restrictions

Understanding Pallet Optimization

How Package Arrangement Works

The calculator tests all six possible package orientations to find the arrangement that fits the most packages on your pallet. Each orientation places a different package dimension along each pallet axis (width, length, height).

Optimization Factors

  • Package orientation and stacking pattern
  • Maximum load height constraints
  • Weight capacity limitations
  • Space utilization efficiency

Standard Pallet Types

GMA/CHEP (48×40")

Most common in North America. Used in grocery and retail supply chains.

Euro Pallet (47.24×39.37")

Standard in Europe and Asia. Optimized for European truck and container dimensions.

Australian Standard (42×42")

Square pallet design popular in Australia and some Asian markets.
