Height Calculator
Predict a child's adult height using scientifically proven methods
Predict Child's Adult Height
Most accurate method for children 4+ years old. Uses current height, weight, and parent heights.
Simple method using only parent heights. Good for younger children or general estimates.
Khamis-Roche Method Inputs
Must be 4 years or older for accurate prediction
Example Calculations
Khamis-Roche Example
Parents: Mother 163 cm, Father 178 cm
Child: 8-year-old boy, 128 cm tall, 25 kg
Mid-parental height: (163 + 178) ÷ 2 = 170.5 cm
Predicted height: ~175 cm (5'9") ±5.3 cm
Mid-Parental Example
Parents: Mother 160 cm, Father 175 cm
Mid-parental height: (160 + 175) ÷ 2 = 167.5 cm
Boy: 167.5 + 6.5 = 174 cm (5'8.5")
Girl: 167.5 - 6.5 = 161 cm (5'3")

Understanding Height Prediction Methods
Khamis-Roche Method
Developed in 1994, this is the most accurate non-invasive method for predicting adult height in children over 4 years old. It uses current height, weight, and parental heights to make predictions.
Advantages:
- •Most accurate method available without X-rays
- •Considers child's current growth pattern
- •Small margin of error (±2.1" boys, ±1.7" girls)
Limitations:
- •Only for children 4 years and older
- •Developed using Caucasian children data
Mid-Parental Method
A simple genetic approach that estimates height based solely on parents' heights. It assumes that children's heights will be influenced primarily by genetic inheritance from both parents.
Advantages:
- •Simple and easy to calculate
- •Can be used for any age child
- •Good for general estimates
Limitations:
- •Larger margin of error (±4 inches)
- •Doesn't consider current growth patterns
- •Less accurate for individuals
